Member Directory

GCA members are general contractors involved in the heavy construction industry, the contractors who build and rebuild the infrastructure, both public and private, in New York City. Our general contractor members do 90 percent of their work for public owners, such as the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the City of New York, New York State and the MTA family of operating units.

Work is also done for private utilities, such as Consolidated Edison and Empire City Subway, as well as private owners, for whom our members build foundations and do specialty structural underpinning work and mass excavation. Our members do marine construction, on piers, bulkheads and underwater pipelines. Others install and rehabilitate water mains, sewers and urban roadways. We have members who undertake station renovations on the subway system, rebuild its escalators, modernize its fan plant and pump room systems, and build the system’s extensions.

GCA members are rebuilding arterial highways for New York State DOT, bridges for the New York City DOT, water tunnels and sewage treatment plants for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, and runways at the airports for the Port Authority. In fact, our members are involved in almost all infrastructure projects in New York City.

GCA also has associate members, firms that supply materials and services to the industry. All active members are union contractors.
